One of the latest devices to pop up online is a flat screen version of the Honor 80 Pro, the phone which appeared at a Chinese mega launch event last month. As the name suggests, the device ain’t quite as fancy as the P50 Pocket, but it has a few things going for it. The new phone has a punch hole on its front face, so you can put a selfie camera inside, and it’s powered by the latest Android version, a bit like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone X.
A Chinese leaker has revealed a few details about the new Honor 80 Pro. While the device hasn’t yet been confirmed, it’s looking likely it’ll hit the markets in early January. It’s also possible that it’ll be the first in the company’s 80-series, with a redesigned chassis to match the rest of the foldable line. In addition, the new smartphone has a surprisingly high number of cameras, one of which may be a real star.
The Honor 80 Pro is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 system-on-chip. This processor offers a number of features including a 64-bit architecture, a quad-core CPU, and a powerful GPU. It can reach a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, and it’s capable of displaying a full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Moreover, the device’s fingerprint scanner can be found under the screen, and it’s capable of supporting a 66W Superfast fast charging standard.
In addition to the new phone’s main draw, the manufacturer has also released some cool-looking accessories for it. These include a smart body scale, which measures the weight and volume of your smartphone for better battery life, and an ultra-slim Magic Wallet, which makes it easy to carry your favorite handset. The company has also created an online presence, and you can find the phone’s official website at the link below.
The new Honor 80 Pro comes with a triple-camera arrangement on the back, and an 8MP f/2.0 camera on the front. The phone also sports a curved-edge OLED display that’s able to produce a full 1080p resolution. Lastly, the device supports a number of other features that are worth mentioning, including a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB type-C port, and a 4,800mAh battery.
Finally, the new device has a single punch-hole on the front, so you can put a selfie camera in the spot. The display has a small hump, which is likely just there for aesthetic reasons. Although the device does resemble the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, it hasn’t been confirmed if the device is actually folding.
As you might have guessed, the new device is the least impressive of the four new phones in the Honor 80 line, but the new phone’s new features are still impressive. At this point, we’re waiting to see whether the Honor 80 Pro‘s flat version will make an appearance in China and whether it’ll become an official Honor phone.
